Ansel Adams, Ruth Bernhard, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Wynn Bullock, Imogen Cunningham, Paul Strand, Edward Weston, these are some of the names that evoke great art for students of fine art photography. Their photographs, to be studied and enjoyed, help us to develop our eye, for composition, tonality, artistry, and light.

We are lucky to have a way to immerse ourselves in a bit of that history by making a trip to Wildcat Hill in Carmel, CA  to the home of Kim and Gina Weston. Wildcat Hill was once the home of the late Edward Weston. Seeing his darkroom and home make you feel as if you have stepped back to his time. If you are a student of photography you owe it to yourself to plan a visit to Wildcat Hill and to take a workshop with Kim Weston.

Having attended a one-on-one workshop on platinum printing, and in talking to others that have attended the other workshops I don’t feel that you could have a better experience. Kim and Gina are very gracious hosts, generous with their time, knowledge, and creative spirit. Combine that with the history that surrounds you there, it is a great experience
